Real Silk Burns
And Muskan lights every batch on fire. Our dedication to quality is unwavering, and it begins with the fabric we select. Before launching this line, Muskan spent a year working in antiques—traveling from Bombay to Lahore to source 19th and 20th-century bridal wear. The bridal pieces of previous generations, made from pure silk, real glass, and authentic silver and gold zari, set a benchmark for luxury that we refuse to compromise. Muskan was able to develop a discerning eye for dense hand-embroidery and pure antique silk that is hard to come by today.
At the core of our philosophy is the belief that true luxury is rooted in purity. Every dress in our collection is crafted entirely from pure silk—inside and out. The outer fabric, or shelf fabric, is pure silk organza, chosen for its light, ethereal quality and delicate sheen. Beneath this, we use pure silk charmeuse for the lining. This natural fiber not only enhances the dress’s overall drape but ensures superior breathability and comfort. Silk charmeuse feels buttery soft and cool against the skin, making it as functional as it is luxurious.
Sourcing silk organza in Lahore is an exacting process. Because Pakistan lacks high quality silk farms and organza mills, we work exclusively with deadstock suppliers in the Old City who source surplus luxury fabric from Chinese mills. Each of their rolls of silk travels along the historic Silk Road, crossing through Afghanistan before arriving in Pakistan.
As every batch of deadstock fabric is unique, we individually “burn test” each one to confirm its authenticity. Real silk burns cleanly, whereas poly-mix silk melts into a sticky residue. This meticulous process ensures that every garment we create meets our standard of using only pure, natural fibers, free from synthetic additives.
Our commitment to purity extends to every element of our dresses. We use glass beads, glass stones, and tilla metal and silk sundries—materials that bring a richness, weight, and authenticity to our garments. These details are chosen not just for their aesthetic appeal but for the luxurious feel they impart, ensuring that every piece feels as extraordinary as it looks.
Sustainability is a natural outcome of this dedication to using natural fibers and deadstock materials. Deadstock fabric, often discarded by mills or brands after production, allows us to create exceptional garments while reducing our environmental footprint. Repurposing these high-quality materials aligns with our commitment to sustainable luxury, while remaining uncompromising in our commitment to delivering the world’s best quality of silk to our clients.
Each Muskan Mumtaz dress tells a story—of silks that traveled the Silk Road, of glass stones that elevate every piece, and of a commitment to craftsmanship and sustainability that defines true luxury and responsible consumption.
